I don't know. It could be or could be just a natural progression of things. People do meet and know each other families regardless if they plan to marry. My ex bf I've been together for 9 years and obviously not just knew each other families but also we were part of each other families. And we constantly travel meeting various family members including out of state and overseas. No we never got married.

My fiancée proposed to me before I met most of his family because they live out of state ( I met them know).
