If you want to get out of the house more, you could always join a gym or a social club on meetup.com. My gym actually does loads of outdoor activities when the weather is good. We go to parks and stuff.
Some gyms or clubs have outdoor swimming pools, which are always nice. I love going swimming.
It's also fun to ride a bike, but I might be a little biased

Kayaking is great too
Non-exercise stuff you can do is take a shopping trip somewhere, see historical sites, go to museums, join a support group, explore an area you haven't been (e.g., maybe you've never been to a neighboring city), etc
Your coffee shop idea is a good one. Also, you can try little cafés... like those boutiquey ones! They have a similar vibe to your local coffee shop, except they're geared toward lunch (usually sandwiches and wraps). I love those places.
