I am sorry I wasn't there for you. I am sorry I let you down.

While I should have been cheering you from the sidelines I was having anxiety attacks in the car. While other parents attended theatrical rehersals I sat crying my eyes out at the coffee shop.

My depression made me useless and you kids stepped up to the plate. Daughter, at 10 you were caring for your little brother. Son, at 12 you ran the household.

And then there was my odd behaviour which must hav been painfully humiliating.

I am so very sorry.
