I had to have a colonoscopy early also because my dad died from colon cancer. I think I was 45 when I had mine which is not as early as some people. The worst thing about a colonoscopy really is the prep. I have been to gastroenterologists a lot. Usually they will probably do a physical on the first visit, ask you about your symptoms and then schedule you for the procedure. That is what I am guessing.
