I'd like to know if OCD affects your piano playing.

I play guitar and seem to keep playing the same runs over and over. Learning how to play does require repetition, of course, but I don't seem to move further on with the instrument.

The thing with the guitar runs might be more innocent. It's a really common thing if your practising on your own. I play guitar too and if you get with some other good players who are willing to share the whole world opens up.

For some reason I've never been able to pick up good stuff from watching live players, I need to be in rehearsals with someone who is open and prepared to slow down a little. I have had one or two real breakthroughs in this way, particularly with my claw hammer style.
