I think it would be a good gift. Don't worry about what she'll do with it.

I gave my ex-T a Christmas card with pictures of my dogs on it. She loved it. Don't know what she did with it, but that's not the point. The point is she accepted it.

And for you, the point is she was there for you up until graduation.
