I had a horrendous afternoon. I left my purse in the cart after grocery shopping and drove off! I was gone four minutes before I realized what I had done. I peeled out back to the store (with no driver's license, car registration or anything) and the grocery baskets were empty. No, no one turned in a found purse at the store.

I was frantic. Looked all over the car, trunk, etc. then I started to realize *everything* was in my purse---a zillion dollar iPad, strong meds, bank card, all the cards u carry, checkbook...No one as going to return all my stuff! A saint, maybe. I was mentally figuring out how I needed to cancel bank account, contact social security and insurances for replacement cards....i was crashing. How am I going to physically and monetarily replace these items? I can't afford another iPad. All my doctor appointments are on the iPad. I literally don't know my schedule...or people's phone numbers...

I asked the pharmacist at the store..what do I do about my meds? I had no idea what I was supposed to do. He said the doctor would likely need me to make a police report....

good grief, it was 4pm so I raced over to my doctors, weeping, I asked the nurse, "What do I do?" I needed my nitro-stat...it was in my purse...no Ativan...it was in my purse...my pain medicine...in my purse... The nurse said, "yes, they need a police report before they can re-issue any meds..because of medication abusers taking advantage"...."Have you filed a police report yet?"

"Good grief, no, not yet!" I knew I had to ask the nurse (her) what I needed to do first, for certain...because..if I had called the police first, the doctor's office would have been closed when I was done....." Panicking!

"Well, we can't write new prescriptions today, unfortunately. Bring in the police report tomorrow morning." I'm thinking, "Damn! I can't buy them because of lack of funds plus my bank card is in my purse plus I have to cancel my bank account!

I went home to call the police. I was a slumped defeated mess, for sure. Instead, I dialed the grocery one more time.
My purse was there.
Nothing was missing.
