I have also suffered from insomnia, no doubt a product of my long term PTSD. I have tried many different medications to help me get the rest I need…but the side effects can be very intrusive. Recently I have started using a foot scrubbing technique taught to me by an indian tobacconist.
Just run a shallow warm bath with some pleasant scented body wash and using a stiff nail brush scrub your feet, toes, heels, and ankles for about 10 minutes…concentrating mostly on the soles of your feet. Rinse off and dry thoroughly…..go straight to bed and hopefully you will find that you drift off. This may or may not work for everyone…. however clean feet are always nice.
