I had the Mirena, if you've got a low hanging cervix, don't get it. You'll feel it all the time and the cramping will be a nightmare. I couldn't barely have sex with it in and if I got bloated the pain was a nightmare. Only positive was no periods pretty much the whole 5 years.

Just got the Nexplanon 3 days ago. Horrendous bruise but it doesn't hurt nearly as bad as that Mirena did. I'm finishing up my pack of pills because they said it takes about 2 weeks for the hormones to build up in your system. The Mirena was quicker acting as it's placed directly in your reproduction system instead of though your blood stream.

So far no complications with the Nexplanon. Will write again later after a month or so.
