Depression has definitely affected my cognitive abilities. I forget things all the time - I'm a cheap movie date as I can forget a movie I just watched just a few days ago. Thinking is slower than it used to be, and more difficult. I hate driving somewhere new because my brain has to make all these new decisions in short order.

I'm hoping that by reading that at least I am exercising my brain, though I quickly forget what I've read.

One odditity is that I remember most things involving numbers - a few days ago I read that there are over 44,000 suicide attempts each year in the US! And 1 out of 25 is successful. No, I'm not thinking about suicide, it's just something I read.
