<font color="#000088">I've been taking Topamax for years, and the side effects that I have experienced have been more along the lines of some short term memory problems. But it took years before that even begun to effect me in that way! I think maybe the depression, and the anxiety may be from dealing with being in that mental fog. Sometimes I even have a hard time concentrating. But it's really been amazing with my mood swings as well. So I have just weighed the pro's and cons, and saw that since it worked so well with keeping my Bi-Polar under control, that I could deal with the memory problems!
I think the concentration problems are a result of the anxiety, that's just my opinion. But I think the best thing for you to do,is to discuss these issues with your prescribing Doc, that put you on the Topamax, and see what he/she has to say about it!
So many people react differently from the same medication, that you never know what's really going on, without talking to your Dr. about it! That would be my best advice! Good luck! </font>
