I'm sorry to hear that. I am curious as to why he is in the hospital. It appears related to a psychological episode of some sort based on your statements. That is somewhat relevant to the situation.

First, Aspergers symptoms range in severity. Symptoms also vary from person to person. As such, they are several medications and behavioral therapies given on an individual basis.

Prescriptions range from antidepressents, stimulants, mood stabilizers, anti-convulsants, and yes, anti-psychotic medications, such as Risperidone.

Antipsychotic medications are actually widely used to treat ASD. (Autism Spectrum disorder).

I cannot say what the hospital may or may not give your friend. Does he seek regular therapy or have a regular psychologist/doctor? He should seek regular help by a psychologist and work out what is best for him with a professional he can come to trust and communicate with.
