My mother is a theist parent, and I in the past few years have come to identify as pagan/animist, and my son is athiest. I have not shared my pagan beliefs with my mother or siblings and likely never will. Likewise my son is not in any hurry to advise them that he is athiest, either, because his theist grandmother will not take it well. I think when my mother is here next month for son's graduation (eek!) we will politely decline to discuss the topic should it come up. Hopefully it won't, since they won't be here over the weekend, and her wanting to go to church won't be an issue.

So it hasn't been an issue yet, since they don't know. I just let it go on by when my mother goes all preachy on me. It's going to be a difficult discussion if I ever have to have it, especially with my brother being a Chaplain.
