Yeah chicory is to coffee like carob is to chocolate. It grows like dandelion with a pale blue flower, only taller, almost like aster, and Italians eat the greens as they do dandelion greens - braised with garlic. It was popular in the 70's or so? when coffee got "expensive" - pre-starbucks days!
