It's a great field. Interesting, rewarding, fun, pays great, tons of jobs. I still get recruited at least weekly after 5 years of asking to be taken off recruiting lists. I can't imagine having done anything else although another career route might have kept me working longer (other decisions in my life and employment might have mattered too).
