I would tell my 21 year old self to listen to those red flags about the guy you are getting married to & not be talked out of them by your mom. Then I would tell that same self that there are some problems with personalities that can't be fixed with education. Now that I know that ASD was the contributing factors to the issues & also to why my dad was the way he was, I would give myself that understanding & would definitely NOT GET MARRIED TO THIS GUY!!!!!!! Choose staying single it wouldn't be any more lonely than the marriage ended up & a lot less fighting.

I would tell my 45 year old self dealing with depression that it wasn't JUST the loss of career that's causing the depression but having to still deal with that same guy I didn't listen to the red flags about in the marriage & even though I felt trapped, there will be a way out other that the suicide attempts I kept trying. There IS a wonderful life ahead to truly enjoy..just be patient.
