Art - while your husband is overreacting to your concerns and should be more sympathetic, I think you are borrowing trouble. There is simply no way an insurance company would say that a teen driver doesn't need to be covered; besides the fact that all but one state requires car insurance, it would take money from the insurance company's pocket and be illegal. They might even be liable if there were an accident.

There is simply some misunderstanding with the agent here. You will call on Monday and get the full story. And I have to say your son, from the way you describe him here, is very unlikely to cause an accident so serious that you would lose your house.
