The MMPI and other tests like it are only as accurate as the one doing the answering. think of it like those multiple choice tests you took in high school. your answers on the tests just reflected how you answered the questions.
if for example you answer truthfully on the MMPI then you willget an accurate report of how your answers tallied up to be
if for exanple you dont answer truthfully then the report will tally those answers and based on your own answers will tell you what those not truthful answers add up to be.
a common example used around here to illustrate this is
if someone who is a painter marks no on all the questions having to do with painting the the report is going to say they are not a painter.
if you have a problem with the results of the test you can contact your treatment provider, they will go over the test results and tell you how and why you no longer fit the diagnosis of bipolar any more.
