thank you right there. The simpler, the better.
I have emailed
thank you's and am always glad I when I did. I have also said thanks in person, but it loses something depending on whether or not I inadvertently, or not so inadvertently, insult her profession and rant about therapists in general during the same session. Plus, I need to leave room for the daily despair report, and a poorly placed
thank you can just feel awkward. She takes it all well--the good and bad--but it's one reason I like to send thanks when it's heartfelt, and not wait.
