Hi Flayme,

The test results should not be viewed as an tool for in assisting your psychiatrist to make an evaluation. They should already have a level of competency in this area. When you initially saw your P'doc (Psychiatrist) they should have taken a longer appointment time to talk to you and get some kind of history. If you have previously seen another p'doc maybe they could forward your notes with you. You could always go back to your GP and get a second referral to another p'doc to find some-one who does have enough time to do the the assessment and work through things with you.

There are p'docs that will just give you a script so they can fast track you out of the office. There are other p'docs in australia who will take more time and offer some sort of counseling and support. You will find it more beneficial in terms of whatever treatment you need. Ask around the support services that you have in your area.

A decent p'doc may need a few visits to get to know you and the other details. If you find it hard to talk maybe writing about what is happening would be beneficial.

This site can be a great way to get information and interact with others in a similar situation. Please make sure that you get the right kind of help in real life too.
