I know from experience that yes, my parents wishes I'd clean my room, but it's not the number one priority. It's only when guests are over for a party that my room needs to be spotless. I tend to clean my room when I am manic, followed by cleaning the rest of the house because I have overcome the symptoms by being productive.
My parents top priority is to have the dishes cleaned and put away. At first, I didn't take it seriously. I thought, "who cares, it's just dishes, they make a mess with the dishes too, why don't they do the dishes they make a mess of themselves?" But then one day it clicked, because I enjoy getting praised when I do a good job, that I began a routine of doing the dishes without being asked, and one day my mom came home from work and told me how big of a help it is to come home and see the kitchen looking nice, it's just one less stress for her and she said it with such sincerity and appreciation, now I have decided that the dishes and kitchen will be my task to do no matter who makes the mess.
Ask your mom what job is most important to her. If she says, "doing the dishes is the biggest help", do the dishes with the thought of "my mom is going to be soooo happy when she comes home and the dishes are done". If she says, "I'd really like the bathrooms to be spotless", do the absolute best job you can to make the bathrooms sparkle. You want to do the very best job you can with the thought of how happy it will make your mom.
Do not expect money out of this. Of course, if you clean the whole house, or do deep cleaning like the refrigerator or cleaning up the garage, anything above and beyond, yes, it's okay to ask to be rewarded. But if it's one or two tasks your mom absolutely wants done on a regular basis, be rewarded with a job well done and the thought of how happy it makes your mom.

She said the loungeroom and I love using the vacuum cleaner so that should be an enjoyable job for me!
