Well I don't think anyone has the 'perfect' body first of all, but I think what you are describing is maybe more symptomatic of a self-esteem issue. There is a self-esteem forum here, and links to articles
In terms of what you might do to feel more confident about your body, some suggestions you might like to try (this is some stuff that worked for me):
1) Exercise. Whatever exercise makes you feel good, be it yoga, swimming, running, gym work-outs. Exercise will improve your tone and fitness and very likely your confidence too - you may learn a new respect for your body as you realise what it is capable of. If you can find a bunch of like minded ladies to work out with so much the better, mutual moral support is worth a lot and also confidence boosting.
2) Eat well. Good nourishing food, your body will thrive on it.
3) Pamper yourself, whether it's a pedicure while watching a good movie or some nice body lotion to make your skin feel softer, or some make-up, or a new hair style. Pampering yourself makes you feel nurtured, and well groomed, that can make you feel more confident too.
* I do share your opinion of 'downstairs' by the way, but then I'm a straight woman, straight men definitely have a more positive attraction. We just don't see it the same way.

Trust his judgement on this one.
