wildflowerchild-have you tried hydroxyzine? Emsam safe and works well. I honestly didn't know benadryl wasn't; I know I've been given it in the hospital with Emsam but generally avoid it because it makes me hyper (which is why I only got it once or twice in the hospital). I've had hydroxyzine scripts all along without anyone raising issues.

On the other hand I wouldn't be allowed valerian because we agreed that since they don't test herbals it is best to not try them. I think my pdoc was being very cautious because I get so sensitive to meds though and if there is a risk of interaction we generally assume I'm more likely to get it. Herbals came up as potential migraine treatments and we decided no to them but did agree to some supplements.
