Bluebicycle, I so agree on Sherlock! Great stuff. I found The Walking Dead kind of boring too. Got better season 3 on, but...)

* 30 Rock (first few seasons especially. We're watching it now.)
* League of Gentlemen (Mark Gatiss played Sherlock's brother btw)
* Wilfred (I love it. Jason Gann is great. But I need to give it a qualified recommendation since the series starts with a sui attempt. They handle it with deft black humor though. But honestly, it's a very good show. Very funny. Stick with seasons 1-3 for your purposes. Season 4 gets dark.)

Those are what come to mind right away. Nothing current, you've probably see them already, but they're my favorites. And great stuff knows no time.
