I live in an old concrete building so noise isn't much of a problem except through the doors across the hall.

My problem though is the building is on the edge of a residential district and zoned right next door to retail spaace. Next door from my bedroom window is a restaurant patio which gets very noisy. It lasted until 2am in the morning when the place finally shut business down. A group of us approached the bylaw police. As they adjoin a residence the police (maybe they got a fine possibly) visited them and now they turn the music off at 10pm. The voices still get very loud though.
