Fizzy, Sorry to hear this. In my observations of others being treated the risks are of possible memory losses. That might be a big loss for you considering the nature of some of your hobbies. PM me if more detailed discussion wanted.

It is not a cure all but it can get people back from the brink of depression. In bipolar it can lead to mood swings after depression is beaten back.
