Many of you have heard me talk about my children (with 4 feet). I am quite proud to be their mommy. I thought I'd share some happy news with all of you.

One year ago Apollo was diagnosed with salivary gland cancer. He has had two surgeries since October 2006 to remove cancerous tumors. The type of cancer he has is very rare, so unfortunately not much is know about it. What is known is that it can be very aggressive, and we were told by his regular vet and an oncology specialist to expect him around for 'months.' In just a few days, it's going to be one year! In human terms, that's close to living 5 years after being diagnosed.

I can't post about Apollo though without mentioning his adopted younger brother Triton. Triton has been a fantastic source of support for all of us. In fact, Triton's birthday is coming up on October 7th and to still have his brother with us has to be the best gift for all (other than the tuna treat he will probably get too).

Currently Apollo is doing very well.. playing with Triton, eating, drinking, using the litter box, cuddling with Mommy, and doing all the normal things Apollo does. We hope to continue on this path for a long time. Every day I have with both of them is truly special.

Pictures of the boys are in the gallery.
