Those are great questions FuzzyWuzzy

I started posting here because I was depressed and needed to feel a connection with others. I've not been very good at asking for help over the years, and still find it difficult to do so. Most of the time, reading others posts, the answers they get in return and posting my support to folks helps me in ways that I could never have imagined.

My definition of support can be different in different circumstances. Sometimes it's a matter of giving a hug and saying I understand what the poster is going through. Other times its having been through something similar myself, so I can give more support in how I dealt with the situation as it pertained to myself. And then, there are other times when I think we all need to hear something along the lines of a reality that we aren't seeing when we are engrossed in our issues and can't seem to find our way out. I always try to give my support, no matter what kind it is, with love, understanding, compassion and hope.

My thoughts about why others post here is very similar to my reasons.....we all need to feel a connection with others who go through similar experiences in life. The online community gives us a security of anonymity (for the most part) and we don't have to be face to face with others when we find it difficult to face ourselves, nevermind the rest of the world.

And the #1 reason for me to be here are the friendships I've received, the knowledge I have learned and the fact I've been able to find the real me inside! What more could one ask for in an online community as PC???
