Hm at 30? It's rather unusual. But that happens. My nephew didn't date anyone until 24, which was a bit unusual too . He isn't awkward or shy or anything, he is in fact very successful. He was just going to college full time in
a demanding field and worked full time so he had no free time plus he is very selective. He is now getting married to an awesome young woman. My son in law actually didn't have any long term relationships, just a bit of dating prior to meeting my daughter and he was in mid 20s and he is an awesome man. So not having experience isn't a big deal

Now as about meeting I don't think it's a big deal. Two hours isn't far. He can come down on his day off. I drive an hour one way every day. No biggie. We drive two hours this weekend to see some relatives. It's doable. Talk some more and then meet.
