My therapist gives me homework, I put it down on paper, hand it in, then don't follow through, come up with excuses and she waits a long time time to bring it up and say, you know, if you stuck to your plan you wouldn't be in this boat! She is in her 60s, I am a very young and unaccomplished 40 (as in I'm in college still). Could it be that you are having a hard time with something, perhaps repetitively, and he's trying to get you on a path, maybe with the wrong touch? I imagine that would work better as a team and if you were a knowing, willing participant.

As far as talk time, it's conversational. But if I'm unwell, she'll lean in and take over bc I may be directionless. That hasn't happened often, but when it has, it's really struck me. And after those sessions, she's called my pdoc to tell him I needed his help. That's happened twice in 6 years. They've never even met.
