After dealing with catching the home care person on the phone applying for a credit care with my Mothers ID, I am very sensitive to identity theft....& the threats that can come with it.
However, the internet is so impersonal....I got an email the other day, saying that my chase account had been accessed overseas.......well, I haven't been overseas....& not only that, I don't have a chase account (except for my new truck loan)....& it went to my husband's email account anyway.
We actually had a strang thing happen while back in Kentucky.....we had our credit card number used in saude arabia to purchase an airline ticket....guess they got the number off the internet from Frontier Air Lines....the only place it was used. The stupid thing was that we caught it before the charge actually went through....& the credit union wouldn't stop it.....they let it go through anyway & then later refunded us the money.
That was the lamest way of handling credit card fraud I have ever heard of...just let it go & pay for the loss anyway....no wonder the interest rates are so high.....those that pay interest are paying for the thefts.
I agree with your GRRR....& GRRRRRRRR again,
Debbie
