Metaphor: His heart was iron. (Compares two things.)
Analogy: There are plenty of fish in the sea. (Means something other than it sounds like: There's more than one person out there for you.)
Euphemism: He was let go yesterday. (Avoids negative words. Let go is better than fired.)
