Hello Hdb19855: You know... unfortunately... everyone's experience is so different. I personally doubt it is possible to say how long it may take to get your mother back to baseline. There are so many variables to be considered, including how complex her current mental health situation is currently, what medications she's put on, & whether or not she is med compliant once she leaves the hospital. Also, different individuals react differently to different med's. Sometimes it can take a while to find the right one, or the right "cocktail" as med's are sometimes referred to when more than one is involved. I hazard to even offer a suggestion with regard to this. But, I'll speculate... maybe 2 or 3 months... maybe? However, it is also true that, sometimes, a person can begin to feel better pretty-much right away. It's just so difficult to predict. Perhaps other members, here on PC, will have other perspectives. Good luck...
