Are the colours random or meaningful, as far as you know?
I have never experienced that. At one time when hypomanic I was literally radiant or at least that's how it appeared on a photograph. Just me.
But maybe it was caused by my clothes or something. I wasn't psychotic or anything. It was before I had any (full or extreme) psychosis. Just hypomania (!) and depression.

Mania kills cells. Brain cells die. Memories become more reduced conceptually, making more efficient use of limited means. Memories shape our reality. Our memories are more or less split in two by abstractions, conceptual reductions. Mood states with memories, concepts, attached. Memories of pain and those of joy. It causes instability, changeability. Fearing that will leave an emptiness between pain and joy and a greater divide.
