Amen to that. That letter is indefensible. It should be used in therapist and p-doc training as an example of clinician pathology and stupidity, and what not to say and do. It's so egregiously bad it's hard to believe it's real. Validating it is indeed victim blaming, and a gross reality distortion.
BTW, a suggestion for the OP. A Yelp review is an easy way for the client who has been harmed, exploited, mistreated, or just had a bad experience... AND has been silenced by the T, to speak out. Especially in this case, where the T has issued a demeaning and shaming judgement and ruling, and refuses to discuss it. Go to Yelp and voila you have a voice. Can give
him the feedback and assessment that he sorely needs, but clearly will not solicit. It's a great equalizer.
