I'm in my early 40's. No, I haven't really had any of those tests done specifically for hair loss issues. Supposedly my thyroid is normal. My last check up for that was a year ago though. I haven't had a dermatologist look at things for a long time. The last one told me to use Rogaine. I bought some, so I'll start using it consistently.

It's not that bad to where I'd need a wig. My hair is just thin on top, but it's not severe. I can easily cover it with a hair powder, but it does smear at times, so I have to be careful to not touch my hair or it'll get on my hands and sun glasses.

I think that it's genetic as both my mom and dad have thin hair now. They both have huge bald spots. My mom doesn't take care of herself or her hair, so that's part of the problem. My younger sister claims to have thin hair now too, but I don't notice any issues with her hair. Mine is on top, hers is more on the sides she claims.

Part of it is due to stress too I think. I get stressed out easily. Maybe it has to do with age too. For now, the powder works fine, but I'll have to start using shampoo like Nioxin on a regular basis soon to keep things from getting worse. It also doesn't help that I color my hair, get it straightened, and wash it every couple of days and blow dry it most of the time too.
