You have rights. I don't think that the dentist is planning to take advantage of you either, but he should be willing to make some provision to prove that you are not treated inappropriately. Why can't someone be in the room? Is it because of possible contamination or something? How about a video camera or something? I sure wouldn't want the liability that dentist faces if he is regularly alone with patients under sedation and can't prove that he behaves appropriately. At work I supervise teenage girls in residential treatment, and no staff is ever alone with a girl because we don't want to even be in a position where we could be accused of anything inappropriate. There's always another person present. It just seems like common sense.

Sorry that he didn't behave more professionally, and no, you aren't a stinker for this one
