I think that kindness can take many forms......kindness can be when we are there for someone when they are hurting or sick......a nice word to make them feel better, a prayer, a hug, a bowl of chicken soup.

Kindness can also take the form of letting someone know when they are wrong & not letting them go on thinking that what they are doing is right. This is a difficult type of kindness because most times it hurts & it is very very hard to be kind & firm at the same time.....but this is like the ideal parent. We can't let our childen run through the house with sissors knowing that they can hurt them selves badly just because they want to. Even if they throw a tantrum because we stop them, we know that it is for their own good that they need to be stopped. It is important for the parent to let their child know that they are stopping them because they love them & don't want them hurt....not because we don't love them. Of course, they don't want to hear what we have to say....they are having fun & may have no idea that what they are doing is even dangerous. There are many examples of this type of kindness that exist in life....& it is definitely the hardest one because it has to be done in a loving, nice way so that the understanding exists for what we are doing or saying isn't meant to be hurtful.

Being a loving parent has definitely tested this type of kindness.....but I have also found that this type of kindness was necessary in my marriage....& sometimes things have to happen for the good of everyone involved because somethings just can't continue the way they are going & have to be stopped.....& the kindness at times looks unkind but in reality, it is the best for all concerned.

This is my thoughts on kindness.....but I really like the chicken soup the best,
Debbie
