Artchic, I am really sorry your mother reacted like that. It's really unfair and very narrow minded. I applaud you for getting a great bathing suit for yourself. I do not yet have the nerve to do that. I rarely wear shorts and am not even comfortable in short-sleeved t-shirts.
Personally, I think that was a really mean thing for her to say.
