Hi there. I have a blog, but it's small with 40 followers, but hey, we've all gotta start somewhere. Good presentation, some sort of direction, and at least reasonable writing skills would probably be pretty important. I certainly won't read a blog if it's in text speak, or walls of disorganised text. But hey, some people go for different things. Lots of guides out there. Look on YouTube; it helped me. Oh, and team up with likeminded people/groups... helps me get a lot of views sometimes. Oh, one more... give some love to other blogs... not only does that help get your name out there a bit, but you'll find some inspiration.

Facebook advertising can be very helpful if you're looking to really get your name out there. Facebook has many, many millions of users worldwide, and they allow targeted advertising, which is really useful! I used to use it for another project and found I could squeeze minimal advertising for just £1 a day.

Nope, I have a lil more... that first post is important: it acts as their first impression of you and your blog, so make it count. Try not to take it too seriously and don't be too disheartened if it doesn't fly off to a success. I have persevered despite only having 40 followers, but there are readers who truly enjoy my posts and aside from those, I've had a fair amount of views, likes, and shares on some of my posts, so I'm doing SOMETHING right... it'll just take time for that big old snowball to gather. Maybe it never will gather much... but I try to remember to write for me as well as them.
