It's unlikely you won't see a car coming: you have hallucinations, things added to, not removed from, your perception.
Hallucinations are nothing to be afraid of. You might be scared that you're losing your mind, but many people experience hallucinations. Being scared probably causes you the most problems. Just experience and don't think.
Only if the hallucinations themselves obscure your perception of important things or the noise of it all makes you suicidal, you should really go to a hospital. But if you think it's getting worse it might also be a good idea. Maybe just sit in the entrance hall or something, just so you feel safer.

Our memories are more or less split in two by abstractions, conceptual reductions. Mood states with memories, concepts, attached. Memories of pain and those of joy. It causes instability, changeability. Fearing that will leave an emptiness between pain and joy and a greater divide.
