I guess it's not really a question of how bad it is to dig your fingernails but what it may turn into. The thing with self injury is that it tends to escalate. Sowhile it may start of as just digging fingernails in, or small scratches etc it has the potential to turn into somemething much more serious. It would be good to talk to your T about this before it gets worse
