Topamax was weight-neutral for me and worked for a little while for me before I switched to Lamictal. I tried Topamax again recently after being off it several years, and it made me have confusion spells this time around. I immediately stopped taking it at that point. My reaction will probably not be the same as yours, of course.  I'd say give it a try!
