I did my good deeds late last night.
First, I left the library and walked to the downtown area like always and went to the park. While there, bubbles appeared in the fountain. I had my back turned so I didn't see the person do it, but when I turned around I could see the guilty person laughing across the street. A short while later I saw that same person go to the fountain and add more bubbles. I know the guy who has to de-bubble the fountain every time (which is happening *a lot* lately!), and I knew he'd be working so I walked there a few blocks away to let him know. He seemed busy through the window so I taped up a note for him. Sure enough he found it, and the bubbles were GONE when I got up early this morning! Usually he isn't notified about bubbles in the fountain for at least a couple days, so by then they can be harder to remove and usually take extra treatments. This time he was able to get them right away. I wouldn't be surprised if the character who did it does
it again tonight.
The second was on my way back. I spotted the back door of a business open a few inches. I stayed in the area looking for a police officer to drive by. When I saw one on the other side of the street coming in my direction, I went out to the middle of the street to flag him, but he was too focused on the next set of traffic lights to even see me standing in the middle of the road waving and calling to him. (?!) Police were hard to find so I walked to the police station 4 blocks away and told someone there. I really didn't like leaving the door unguarded with it being open like that because of all the homeless in the immediate area who are untrustworthy. Many of them sleep in the parking garage across the street from that store. I wasn't about to let it stay open and not let someone know in case one of them already went in, so I did what I had to do and left for the police station.
LOL, so no biggie, but nonetheless, I did good for the day. I don't know what the outcome was, but I doubt the thing with the store would be anything big. The police thought the owner might want to thank me either way and asked permission to give whoever my name. I guess the business owners usually ask who made the report. Never thought about it. Don't know, doesn't matter. I just didn't want to see the place get ripped off.
