You can obsess and not have compulsions at all. That is called something like "pure obsessive or pure O" I think?? You can look it up, it's a thing.

My obsessions usually have to do with people being mad at me or obsessing about my sexuality or things at work. My compulsion is to call people who are close to me to try to get reassurance for how anxious I feel. I want to hear someone tell me everything will be all right. I know that doesn't sound like a typical compulsion, but a compulsion can be anything you do to try to alleviate the anxiety you feel from obsession.

I have bipolar as well as OCD, so I understand the mood cycling that you also experience. Do your obsessions about death seem to come and go with your moods? That's what happens with me. Sometimes it gets more intense than others and lasts longer. I need to run and do something, but I'll give you more tips on what I do later.
