Hello! I was prescribed two different medications today. Lexapro and fluanxol. Here's a bit of back story...
So I have been having some serious issues with depression lately. This is not very uncommon for me. But this time is especially bad.
I have been on Lamictal 150mg for about 6 months, recently bumped it up to 200mg. But the depression, sheer lack of motivation, social anxiety, sucidial thoughts, hallucinations, insomnia, all of that fun stuff, has not subsided and recently was exasperated. So I went to my psychiatrist and she prescribed me Escitalopram (lexapro) 20mg daily and Flupentixol (Fluanxol) .5mg when needed.
I am not familiar with these two medications, and the Internet seems to not have anything about combining the two medications. Much less taking Lamictal on top of it.
I was wondering if anyone could share their insight on the two medications, and if anyone has ever taken them together. I really am not familiar with taking a pharma based treatments for Bipolar 1. So anything you guys can share is super helpful.
Thanks in advanced!
