Second of all, why would your pdoc prescribe you Lexapro daily and Fluanxol PRN? Lexapro on its own caused an upswing for me, and well... since you're not on a therapeutic dose of Lamictal and you're only taking Fluanxol PRN, you'll probably become hypo/manic. Is your pdoc trying to test if you're bipolar or something?
I had been taking Lamictal for years on and off from doses anywhere from 50-350mg, but it never seemed to work well for me. It may have prevented manic episodes, but it never seemed to address the severe depression I had felt. She tried adding abilify into the mix, but that left me feeling agitated and anxious. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder 5 years ago. Although SSRIs do put me at risk for hypomania (as she explained) I do feel that the current spell of depression is bad enough that it is most likely is warranted.
Have you had a negative experience from antidepressants?
