But what you're saying is the profession itself at heart is designed to prey on the vulnerable, if I'm reading you right. I don't disagree - if the therapist's approach is going to be to infantilize the patient, it is unbelievably easy to do damage, accidental or not.
But that's only true if infantiliziing is their method. My T has always worked to empower me in the relationship.
