My guess is that they don't know what to do to help you. That and the hospital and the house just passed the buck when they didn't know what to do. Doesn't mean that you're worthless, more that they just don't know what to do.
Can you see or feel that you have value to yourself? Anything at all? I know that may be a toughie, I have problems with that, too.
