You hit a small artery. I've done this quite a few times now. Like HalloweenSkye, I find it kind of fascinating and enjoy watching it. I've figured out where one small artery is on my thigh, and I sometimes cut in this area purposely searching for that small artery. I feel like it's a little sick and twisted that I enjoy it, but it is what it is.
